Required Skills:

  • Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

NGH Energy seeks a Mechanical Project Manager

Project Manager

Markets- Pittsburgh, PA and Columbus, OH

The primary function of a Project Manager is to plan, coordinate, execute, and maintain effectively the scope of contracted work within an allotted budget and time schedule. You are expected to perform and direct project design; interpret, organize, coordinate and execute projects from inception thru completion. You will also assist in the design of HVAC, lighting, and mechanical systems for various projects. Responsibilities and job requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct and monitor project schedules, construction budgets, and fee budgets

  • An experienced technical mechanical engineer, who has designed HVAC systems including packaged rooftop, split systems, VAV, displacement ventilation, 4-pipe, VRF, makeup air, etc.

  • Project design and design implementation

  • Ability to prepare and direct studies, scoping documents, reports, construction documents, etc.

  • Establish project design solution, system/equipment application, design and operational parameters, control sequences

  • Work closely with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants including owners, builders, developers, program managers, contractors, architects, vendors, etc.

  • Load calculations and equipment selection

  • Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports

  • Perform and direct workflow and mentoring of production/engineering team members

  • Proactively find ways to improve the client experience by understand their needs and expectations

  • Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you

  • Solid time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

  • High level of proficiency, acute attention to detail

Relevant Skills & Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent experience

  • You must have experience managing MEP, HVAC and Energy related construction projects.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Consulting Engineering or Mechanical Contracting

  • Exhibits thorough understanding of applicable codes

  • Project management experience, which comprises of project scheduling requirements, resource requirements, and project budgets experience

  • Design mechanical systems

  • Load calculations

  • Equipment selection

  • Analysis of equipment energy use for optimizing systems selection

  • Developing system narratives (writing, organizing the document, develop images)

  • Coordinate mechanical system design with architects and other disciplines

  • Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident, with co-workers, external team members, clients and other stakeholders

  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills

  • Writing specifications

  • Interact and work with diverse set of clients and subcontractors

  • Strong knowledge of demand-side energy analytics and management (e.g., building operations, building management systems, self-generation, etc.)
    Strong background and knowledge of commercial skill set to analyze and review utility tariffs and power contracts
    Proficiency in energy and building management systems
    Ability to interpret, analyze, and help build project financial models
    Energy auditing or commissioning experience
    Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods, with practice in Measurement and Verification (M&V) Techniques
    Certification as either a CEM (certified energy manager) or CEP (certified energy procurement professional) may be substituted for two years of desired professional experience.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • LEED AP, highly preferred

  • Proficient in design and calculation software, as well as with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Possesses a solid understanding of proper system selection and determination of project design solutions

  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment without compromising quality or accuracy

  • Exhibits self-disciplined approach to establishing priorities to meet multiple concurrent deadlines both for themselves, and others

  • Professional Engineer (certification)
